Dear Pike Road Families,

We’re excited to announce a special one-day community food drive taking place this Tuesday, November 4.

This quick, one-day effort will support Pike Road students and families who may be facing challenges due to furloughs or financial hardships. All donations collected will stay right here in our community through our partnership with the Woodland Food Pantry.

🕗 When: Tuesday, November 4 — drop off before school or anytime during the day
📍 Where: Outside of your school’s front doors and PRS Central Office, 10350 US Hwy 80
🍎 What to Bring: Anything is accepted and appreciated. Some needed items include: breakfast foods, canned ravioli & spaghetti with meatballs, snacks, crackers, and condiments like mayonnaise, ketchup, and ranch dressing.

Every can, box, and bag makes a difference.

One Day Food Drive: Nov. 4, drop off at any school or central office. Most wanted items: Breakfast items, boxed meals, condiments, canned pasta, snacks and crackers

Please be aware that on Wednesday. Nov 5, there will be a change to the flow of traffic at the GW campus.
We will conduct a traffic study on this date to evaluate afternoon dismissal procedures and look for opportunities to improve traffic flow and safety on and around our campus. The study will take place during the afternoon dismissal timeframe between 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
To facilitate this study, please note the following temporary adjustments to the afternoon traffic pattern:

♦️ Car Rider Line: Parents picking up students on November 5th will have the opportunity
to double stack on Georgia Washington Road beginning at 3:00 p.m. A Montgomery Sheriff's Department Deputy will assist with stacking as you enter onto Georgia Washington Road from Pike Road. Pike Road Administration will assist in alternating the double-stacked car rider traffic as they enter the pickup lane in front of Georgia Washington.
🟡 Bus Riders: Students who ride the bus will be dismissed approximately five (5) minutes early to allow time for bus loading and an efficient departure of our 1st wave of buses.
🔷 Student Drivers: Once all buses have exited campus, student drivers will be routed through the bus loop exit from the student parking lot for afternoon dismissal onto Antioch Road. Student drivers will NOT be allowed to exit as normal onto Georgia Washington Road.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we complete this study to help determine if stacking two afternoon car rider lines on Georgia Washington Road alleviates the congestion at Georgia Washington Road and Pike Road.

Creating Connection Through Play and Communication at PRES 🔵🔴⚪️ Today at Pike Road Elementary, we celebrated a milestone that goes far beyond new equipment. Our students, staff, and community came together to unveil our new Inclusive Playground Communication Boards and Accessible Swing — tools designed to make sure every child, verbal or nonspeaking, with or without disabilities, has the opportunity to play, connect, and communicate with their peers. This project is about more than accessibility — it’s about belonging. When we give students a way to share their thoughts, wants, and feelings — whether with words, symbols, or a device — we’re not just building playgrounds, we’re building understanding and inclusion. Today, Pike Road Elementary School unveiled new communication boards at each of its playgrounds, along with a new inclusive swing!

These additions were made possible through the Guardian Teach for Tomorrow Grants, helping create play spaces where every child can connect, communicate, and belong.

The communication boards are especially meaningful because not every learner is verbal, so they give our nonverbal friends a way to share what they want to do, how they feel, or what they need.

It’s another beautiful step toward making sure every Patriot has a voice and a safe place to play.

All Pike Road Schools will dismiss early this Friday, October 10, for Homecoming Festivities. 🎉

Please note the dismissal times for each campus:
PRES, Founding Campus – 11:20 a.m.
PRIS, Historic Campus – 11:30 a.m.
PRJHS & PRHS, GW Campus – 11:45 a.m.

👉 Carpool, walkers (where applicable), and buses will begin at the times listed.

⭐️ Behind every clean hallway and classroom are our amazing custodians. They work constantly to keep our schools clean, safe, and ready for learning each day. Today, we celebrate and thank our custodial team for the care and pride they pour into Pike Road Schools. We couldn’t do it without you!
