Education

I graduated from Benjamin Russell High School in 2001 and quickly went to Shelton State Community College to continue my education.  After 2 years at Shelton State Community College I moved to Auburn to attend Auburn University.  2005 I graduated from Auburn University where I received my bachelors degree in Human Development Family Studies with a concentration in Child Life.  Following my internship at Children's Hospital Birmingham I continued my education journey.  I then went to Auburn University Montgomery to receive my masters degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.  I am still learning as I am in my 11th year of teaching.

Experience

I have had the pleasure of teaching in many different environments and ages.  I have taught cheerleading camps, preschool for Easter Seals and in the elementary school setting for 11 years.  I taught 8 years at Tallassee Elementary where I taught kindergarten, first grade and multi handicapped preschool.   I am currently in my 3rd year at Pike Road Elementary School teaching in Community 3.  I currently teach social sciences in a project room where the excitement happens the learning is nonstop.

Bio

I was born and raised native to Alexander City, AL.  I was born and raised in the small town where I was given the love for serving others, learning from all I came in contact with and the excitement for life.  Following high school graduation, I traveled the country teaching cheerleading camps.  That is where I gained the love for traveling the world.  I graduated from Auburn University with a bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Child Life.  I then continued my education and received a masters in early childhood and elementary education from Auburn University Montgomery.  I have been teaching in the public school setting for 11 years.  I have experience teaching kindergarten, first grade and multi-handicapped preschool.  I am now loving this journey in Community 3 at PRES as I am a life long learner.  My husband Josh and I have been married for 11 years and have two beautiful children who are 8 and 5 years old.  I love teaching and view it as a mission field where I can make an impact locally and globally.
