We as humans are gifted this beautiful adventure called life.  At the core of our adventure is our ability to connect to others and to experience growth and learning.

As we learn, we dream, plan, research, collect, construct, create, try, succeed, fail, refine, connect with others, gather and interpret feedback, and repeat this process over and over again in the cycle of life and learning.  Life and learning are inextricably connected as we thrive with growth and learning and wilt and wither in its absence.

Growing people, celebrating learning, and facilitating others to build their creativity are my true callings.  I’ve chosen education as the path to not only better myself, but to help better others.

I studied and received my BA in Studio Art from the University of Virginia.  At UVA I began taking graduate education courses that eventually lead to a Masters degree of Secondary Education from Old Dominion University.  I am currently studying for a post-graduate certificate in Gifted and Talented Education at the University of Alabama. My experiences as a lead learner include:

  • 11 years of K-5 Visual Arts, Virginia Beach Public Schools

  • 1 year of 8-11 Visual Arts, Montgomery Public Schools

  • 1 year of K-6 Visual Arts, Pike Road Schools

  • 1 year (current) of K-4 Makerspace and 3-5 Gifted and Talented Education, Pike Road Schools

I am blessed to live and work in in the great town of Pike Road, Alabama with my family.  I am blessed to be married to Matt Gill and am equally blessed to have a 1 year old son named Deke Gill.
